Hal Hays Construction Awarded 8th STAR Safety Excellence Award for Outstanding Safety Performance

Riverside, California-June 29, 2010- Hal Hays Construction Inc. (HHCI) earned selection by the ROICC PWD Yuma, AZ for the STAR Safety Excellence Award for HHCI’s outstanding safety performance during the execution of the Design Build Child Development Center project at MCAS Yuma, AZ. HHCI was commended on delivering a quality project on time and within budget.

Additionally, HHCI met the following high safety standards of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and ROICC Yuma:

• Zero days away, restricted and transferred (DART) rate throughout the life of the contract
• No significant contractor or government property damage for entire length of contract
• No safety non-compliance notices or stop work orders
• No findings identified during Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance inspections
• No Class A, B, or C crane mishaps
• Minimum overall satisfactory performance evaluation – including quality
• Cumulative average score of 90% or better on the contractor safety self evaluation checklist process

HHCI was congratulated and given a “well done!” by Michael T. Angustyn, LTJG, CEC, USN.
