Prequalification Form


Riverside, CA – May 19, 2015–Demonstrating HHCI’s commitment to subcontracting with small and diverse vendors, the firm launched an online form to support recruitment efforts for various clients and geographic locations.

The Subcontractor/Consultant/Vendor Prequalification form will help firms to identify their capabilities, geographic service areas, markets/clients, typical project size, and diversity certifications, to support HHCI’s future projects. Given HHCI’s varied client base, the firm seeks to identify small and diverse firms with certifications such as: Small Business, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Hubzone, Minority Owned Business, Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Woman Owned Small Business, and SBA 8(a) firms.

HHCI Completes Walmart Supercenter Renovation


Riverside, CA – April 21, 2015–HHCI  renovated the Walmart Supercenter in Palmdale, CA to improve the center’s ADA features, floor plan, grocery area, electrical systems, interior and exterior finishes, signage, restrooms, pharmacy, vision center, and fire sprinkler system.

For sustainability efforts, through the project’s waste management plan, HHCI achieved an 86% diversion rate of waste from landfills by identifying and salvaging metals, wood, and construction material during project operations.

HHCI met all stringent project requirements, including executing a demanding schedule with no interference to Walmart’s retail sales operations.

HHCI Completes Unique Pedestrian Bridge for Edison Corporate Headquarters

HHCI Completes Unique Pedestrian Bridge for Edison Corporate Headquarters


Riverside, CA – January 25, 2015–  HHCI successfully completed a one of a kind pedestrian bridge at Southern California Edison’s Rosemead, California headquarters. HHCI served as prime contractor and builder to construct a pedestrian bridge, spanning from General Office Building 1 (GO1) to General Office Building 3 (GO3), over Walnut Grove Avenue. The milestone project provides safe passage way between two key facilities and eliminates any potential for pedestrian near misses. Also, the bridge represents the firstpedestrian bridge erected within the City of Rosemead.

Project Highlights –

  • Bridge spans are sustainable steel with a zinc-enhanced, corrosion resistant coating, delivered in 6 sections from fabricators in California and Tennessee.
  • Bridge measures 430 feet, and weighs approximately 296 tons. Span sections traveled thousands of miles from fabricators in California and Tennessee and required pilot cars along the way to arrive safely at site.
  • The bridge is supported by five concrete piers, each pier is supported by four Cast-In Place Drilled Hole (CIDH) concrete piles, ranging from 35 to 50 feet in depth.
  • Over 175 concrete trucks delivered the required 1,400 cubic yards of concrete.

Spans Walnut Grove Avenue, a heavy traveled thoroughfare Work conducted within Edison’s 5,000 person campus, with most activity conducted during off-hours to minimize interference to Edison’s operations.

The STAR Safety Award provides notable merit to those companies that demonstrate corporate proactive safety posture throughout the life of a contract and outstanding safety performance during the project’s execution. In order to earn a STAR Safety Award a contractor must complete a project with the below requirements:

  • Zero DART incidents throughout the life of the contract
  • No significant ($10,000) contractor or government damage for entire length of the contract
  • No safety non-compliance notices or stop work orders
  • No findings identified during Occupational Safety & Health Administration compliance inspections
  • Minimum Overall Above Average performance evaluation – including quality
  • Cumulative average score of 90% or better on the contract safety self-evaluation checklist process where required by contract

Riverside, CA – October 09, 2014 – For a sixth consecutive year, HHCI earned the Gold Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Award from Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.’s (ABC) Southern California Chapter. The STEP award program provides an organized approach to analyze and further develop safety and loss prevention programs and provides a vital, objective method to measure safety program improvements.

STEP award certificates are given in five categories: bronze, silver, gold, diamond, and platinum. HHCI is an elite recipient, being one of only ten companies to receive a STEP award from the Chapter.

HHCI Nears Completion of Eagle Canyon

HHCI Nears the Completion of Eagle Canyon Debris Basin


Riverside, CA – August 05, 2014 – HHCI is nearing the completion of the Eagle Canyon Debris Basin located in Cathedral City, California, in an area prone to heavy flood damage. Although the debris basin is not yet complete, Robert Cullen, Chief of Design and Construction Division for the Riverside County Flood Control & Water Conservation District stated that “the debris basin is completely functional and essentially we have 100 year protection right now.”

The Eagle Canyon Debris Basin, an 85-foot structure, is capable of retaining up to 185-acre feet of water and 14-acre feet of debris. It can also handle an inflow of water equal to 50-swimming pools every minute.

HHCI is proud to be a key partner with the County of Riverside Flood Control & Water Conservation District on this important project.
