HHCI Completes Unique Pedestrian Bridge for Edison Corporate Headquarters
Riverside, CA – January 25, 2015– HHCI successfully completed a one of a kind pedestrian bridge at Southern California Edison’s Rosemead, California headquarters. HHCI served as prime contractor and builder to construct a pedestrian bridge, spanning from General Office Building 1 (GO1) to General Office Building 3 (GO3), over Walnut Grove Avenue. The milestone project provides safe passage way between two key facilities and eliminates any potential for pedestrian near misses. Also, the bridge represents the firstpedestrian bridge erected within the City of Rosemead.
Project Highlights –
- Bridge spans are sustainable steel with a zinc-enhanced, corrosion resistant coating, delivered in 6 sections from fabricators in California and Tennessee.
- Bridge measures 430 feet, and weighs approximately 296 tons. Span sections traveled thousands of miles from fabricators in California and Tennessee and required pilot cars along the way to arrive safely at site.
- The bridge is supported by five concrete piers, each pier is supported by four Cast-In Place Drilled Hole (CIDH) concrete piles, ranging from 35 to 50 feet in depth.
- Over 175 concrete trucks delivered the required 1,400 cubic yards of concrete.
