Eagle Canyon Dam Awarded Project of the Year by ASCE!

Riverside, CA – July 12, 2016 – HHCI’s Eagle Canyon Dam and Debris Basin project has been recognized by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) selection committee as Picture1the 2015-2016 Project of the Year. The $10.6 million project was the first dam constructed by the Riverside County Flood Control District since 1993. The Dam is designed to hold 185 acrefeet of water, 40 acrefeet of debris and removed 190 acres and 500 structures from the mapped floodplain. This milestone project now provides flood and hazard mitigation, by protecting Cathedral City from rain torrents and debris funneled downstream.

Each year, the ASCE recognizes exciting and innovative new civil engineering projects built throughout Picture2San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, and this year HHCI faced some stiff competition between the projects vying for Project of the Year.

We felt your project was a fine representation of what the Civil Engineering Profession brings to our community and we have recognized it as such”, noted Brandon Reyes, ASCE Past President of the San Bernardino/Riverside chapter.

HHCI is proud to bring to life such an excellent engineering solution, and congratulates the Riverside County Flood Control District, and our entire project delivery team in delivering a safe and complex project. We also extend our thanks to the ASCE for their recognition of this innovative project in our local area. Congratulations HHCI!
