HHCI Earns its 23rd STAR Safety Excellence Award
Riverside, CA – October 10, 2014 – Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) has earned its 23rd STAR (Safety Through Awards and Recognition) Award for outstanding safety performance during the execution of Repair Airfield Pavement Markings, MCAS Camp Pendleton, CA for the Department of the Navy.

The STAR Safety Award provides notable merit to those companies that demonstrate corporate proactive safety posture throughout the life of a contract and outstanding safety performance during the project’s execution. In order to earn a STAR Safety Award a contractor must complete a project with the below requirements:
- Zero DART incidents throughout the life of the contract
- No significant ($10,000) contractor or government damage for entire length of the contract
- No safety non-compliance notices or stop work orders
- No findings identified during Occupational Safety & Health Administration compliance inspections
- Minimum Overall Above Average performance evaluation – including quality
- Cumulative average score of 90% or better on the contract safety self-evaluation checklist process where required by contract
